My photography was born from my desire honor your story.
Whether it’s a walk down the street or your wedding day, my aim is to find the light and beauty wherever you are, and… perhaps contribute to it. Here's a little about me:
I photograph a lot of things!
I also take on floral design work!
I designed florals for three weddings and two events in 2018, and I’m excited to see what 2019 has in store. Floral design has turned into a real passion of mine. If you’re interested in considering me for your wedding day or event, visit my floral page. I’d love to hear from you.
I love stories.
I'm a storyteller and documentarian at heart. It's a lifestyle. My photography was was born out of the need to create and to use my giftings (A.K.A. where my skill-set and calling overlap) to serve. I capture the nuances of the day, the shifts in light, and the in between moments. I love creating portraits that reveal your most natural, truthful, and beautiful self. Whether it's your brand, special day, time, person, place, event, or connection, I'm humbled and honored to capture it in photographs and in writing in an honest and artful way.
I love my beau. (That’s a given.)
But here’s what you should know. We found each other in 2013 – we met on a sidewalk on our way to the same small group, and we married in November 2015. It is not lost on me that our paths were brought together at the most perfect time. I've been humbled to experience real love, and I pray it will continue to inform the way I photograph and tell your story. (You can see more of our story here.) Andrew and I collaborate when we can. He assists me as a photographer for weddings, and he works full-time as a videographer for Amor In Motion.
I love God.
It is by grace upon grace I'm able to do what I do. It’s a privilege. And I'm grateful God uses my 34 years of life to teach me the preciousness of it all. He has given me eyes to see the beauty, and He continues to reveal to me His work in you and in your story.
One of my favorite verses is in John 1 verse 8: "He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light." As a natural light photographer, it's not only integral to my work, but natural light also reminds me God is with me, and I am His vessel. He gives good gifts, and it is a privilege to do His work.
I'm an Ohio-native, but I've called the amazing city of Chicago home for over a decade. Andrew and I live by Lake Michigan with a Maine Coon kitty named Ollie Dean. We love light-play, and we make tacos together every week.
