July 2017 Playlist

Welp, this month's playlist was made pretty slowly. Most of the songs on this one aren't new per se, but they've found me again. I love when that happens. The only "new to me" song I've included on this mix is "Birds" by Maggie Koerner. My goodness, guys. This woman has an A.mazing voice and feel for music. I hear it both colorfully and nuanced. She changes pitch seamlessly, and incorporates that soul and edge I adore. I'm praying she makes her way to Chi, because her live performances are ri-dic-ulous.

Also, I decided to include some videos for this post because they're just so darn good. You'll find some faves from Dan Auerbach vibing out in the desert at golden hour, Gnarls Barkley - because the dancing is excellent, an SNL performance from Frank Ocean - because the bridge of "Thinking About You" gives me chills, and a random live cover of the National's "Fake Empire" by Paul Jacobsen & the Madison Arm - I dare you not to be moved by Paul's perfect reach on vocals at the end.

Happy listening friends.

Grace & peace,
Rachel
