White Florals & Greenery Galore for Meredith & Tony's July Wedding

Meredith & Tony Robledo’s wedding was extra special for me for many reasons. Besides loving these friends and their aesthetics, this wedding was my first Chicago wedding where I did the floral design instead of the photography. ;)

Mer and Tony knew they wanted to keep the color palette minimal and classic: white, grey, black, and green. So we decided on white flowers, which included the fluffiest Peonies, Ranunculus, and Lisianthus. And we went big on the greens – stretching tropical palms down the aisle and tables, wrapping the arbor in Italian Ruscus and Jasmine, and filling in with Olive Branch which was also used in the bouquets and boutonnieres.

This wedding required a flip. So after the ceremony, the bridal party went outside for cocktail hour while we transformed the space for the reception. We utilized everything from the ceremony, i.e. the palms down the aisle were placed as garland down the tables, and the bud vases decorating the venue’s periphery were placed as centerpieces.

Their venue – the now closed Prairie Production – was an incredible space to work in. With it’s historic charm, natural light, high ceilings, and white canvas, the flowers, greenery, and details were able to speak for themselves.

All in all, Meredith and Tony’s wedding was a wonderful experience for me – as their floral designer and as their friend.

Without further adieu, here are gorgeous photos from Meredith and Tony’s special day captured by Tony’s sister Meghan Bradley and the wonderful Louie Abellera.
